Welcoming Gerald Prinzhorn as our new CEO

We are excited to announce the appointment of Gerald Prinzhorn as the new CEO of the Prinzhorn Group, effective September 1, 2024.

Gerald Prinzhorn, aged 57, brings extensive industry experience and a strong track record of leadership. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Graz University of Technology and an MBA from a business school in Fontainebleau, France. Gerald began his career in 1995 as an assistant to management at Baumit Wopfinger and then moved on to the Boston Consulting Group in 1999, where he spent five years as a consultant.

Following his time in consulting, Gerald took on operational roles that further honed his leadership skills. He served as CEO at ASHDEC Environment and as Managing Director at Dunapack Spremberg for nearly five years. Most recently, Gerald was the CEO of Baumit GmbH, a position he has held since 2020. Before that, he led the Austrotherm Group as CEO for eight years, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s successful international expansion.

Beyond his professional achievements, Gerald is a passionate sportsman and culture enthusiast. A dedicated marathon runner, he exemplifies perseverance and commitment in both his career and personal life. He is married and the proud father of four children – two sons and two daughters.
